When it comes to rebooting the contact points on a long, low and narrow XC lay-out or simply updating the finishing kit on a more aggressive trail bike/enduro configuration, Ritchey’s new for 2013 ‘WCS Trail’ range of handlebar, stem and seatpost covers the essentials with minimal fuss and a stealthy style guide.

Like their stem it’s Ritchey’s 3D Forging process that goes in to creating this 7050 aluminium post. The Link’s 5 or 25mm offset, reversible seat clamp paired with a 400mm length across the line and 27.2, 30.9 and 31.6mm diameter options covers a lot of bases. Adjustment is via a twin bolt affair with fine tuning of saddle pitch simplified by the exquisitely forged arch that the head clamps neat bolt tabs run on.The ‘Blatte’ also seems to hold its finish as long as you’re not too much of a post height fusser and at 235g it edges out the likes of RaceFace’s shorter (350mm length) Evolve seatpost by 30g in the weight stakes.
